Yarns produced in Scotland are amongst the most beautiful in the world. For centuries Scotland has had the reputation of producing the finest yarns from fine, but difficult to handle fibres such as angora, mohair and of course cashmere, the Queen of fibres. Over the past 3 years K1 Yarns has developed a close relationship with some of Scotlands finest knitting yarn producers. This year we were excited to collaborate with one of the finest to develop the ultimate hand-dyed cashmere knitting yarn, and now we are excited to introduce Selkie. This magical yarn, named for the mysterious mermaid of the Orkney Islands, is breathtakingly beautiful. Blended with superfine merino to give the memory and retention normally not found in cashmere, this blend is simply exquisite whilst also forgiving for all hand knit and crochet projects.
