Vala's Daily Knitting Fix!

EVERY WEEK DAY FROM AUGUST 2-13, FROM 4-5 PM

NEW FOR AUGUST! As part of our Edinburgh Festival of knitting and crochet event program we are excited to introduce Vala's Daily Knitting Fix!

Every weekday afternoon from Aug. 2-13  we will be offering weary festival-goers an hour of relaxation, creativity and tea!

Vala will be here in the shop every day from August 2-13 from 4 to 5 pm to take people through our special 2010 Edinburgh festival tea cosy project! Sign up for this special daily workshop and you will recieve all of the materials (wide choice of colours), pattern and needles to make Vala's Festival Tea Cosy!

Suitable for knitters with basic knitting skills, you may either take just the one class (included in the kit price) or return as many times as you like during the festival for only an addtional £6 per class! Each class includes a refreshing wee pot of tea!

So if you are looking for a break and a bit of calm from festival mayhem then come along and join us from 4 pm every day and create a knitted souvenier from the 2010 Edinburgh Festival! Places are limited so please call to reserve your place!

Super Super Cute Festival Crochet Weekend!!

7 & 8 August

Why not kick off the festival with us on Saturday 7 August and Sunday 8 August and learn to make one of Brigitte Read's famous crocheted characters from her new book 'Super Super Cute Crochet'!

These workshops are suitable for anyone over the age of 10 and like all of our workshops and classes, everything is provided! You will get all of the materials and your own crochet hook to keep. You will love this beginner crochet workshop and best of all NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!! This is for absolute beginners, although we think that all crocheters will love to make these super SUPER cute creatures!

The workshops are 1.5 h in length and each workshop costs £23.99 (all materials included).

Scottish Lace Knitting Workshops

14 & 15 August

If you are travelling to Edinburgh for the world famous Festival and Fringe this August, don't miss our exciting Scottish Lace Knitting Weekend!

Helen Lockhart of Ripples Crafts Scottish Highland Yarns will be here at K1 Yarns Knitting Boutique for the entire main festival weekend, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 August! Helen will have her entire stock of beautifully hand-dyed Scottish lace and sock yarns here in the shop for you to swoon over!

Even more exciting, Helen will be conducting a series of Scottish Lace Knitting workshops right here in the shop, to complement a new Scottish Highland Shawl pattern new for this summer! Each workshop is 1.5 hours, but places are limited so please contact us to book your place! The workhop is £25.99 and includes laceweight knitting yarn, pattern and needles. This workshop is not for beginners, we suggest that it is most suitable for knitters who have completed at least 1 project and know how to knit, purl, cast on and cast off.
